A standard sized men's wrist watch from the 1920s through the 1960s was so much smaller than today's watches. The basic range of sizes was 30-36 mm and 38 mm was considered oversized.
Typically, modern men's watches tend to range between 38 mm to 46 mm although the trend does seem to be reverting back again to smaller sizes! Therefore, it can truly be regarded as an ideal unisex watch, perfect for a man who wishes to recall and relive the vintage aesthetic (or for a male with smaller wrists) and also entirely suitable for a woman. Case width (9 o'clock to 3 o'clock): 32 mm (excluding crown). Case length (lug to lug): 39 mm.
Case thickness: 9 mm (including domed crystal). Tissot is a Swiss luxury watchmaker. The company was founded in 1853 by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Émile Tissot in the Swiss city of Le Locle, in the Neuchâtel area of the Jura Mountains. Tissot is not associated with Mathey-Tissot, another Swiss watchmaking firm. Tissot merged with watch company Omega SA in 1930, forming SSIH (Société Suisse pour l'Industrie Horlogère), and Tissot-Omega watches from this era are sought after by collectors.SMH took the name of the Swatch Group in 1998. Tissot SA remained in Le Locle, Switzerland, and is marketed in 160 countries. Tissot watches are now classified by the Swatch Group as "mid-range market" products. The company motto/slogan of Tissot is "Innovators by Tradition".
